Beautifully designed family townhouse with unique features and views

Gaucin Property ref: MB4790

Designed with his family in mind, this unique property was built by a carpenter and builder with an eye for detail, to create a warm and inviting home. Full of charm and rustic features, the house also has extensive outside space; two rooftop terraces capture different aspects of the famous Gaucin view, all the way down to the Mediterranean.

The Tour

The entryway is lined with hand-crafted fitted wardrobes and leads into an open-plan living/dining space with the kitchen at the back and a study which could make an extra guest room if required. Exposed brick walls are belying the original ancient house and wooden beams throughout the house. The warm polished terracotta tiles on the ground floor are juxtaposed with vintage cement tiles.

The kitchen itself is well-appointed and generous, with hand-crafted kitchen cupboards, plenty of storage and granite worktops. The ensconced wood-burning stove lends added warmth, inviting you to socialise around the island in the centre of the kitchen.

The back door from the kitchen opens out into a central stone patio. The covered utility room also serves as storage and houses a laundry area with antique marble tiles and a sink. There is also an outdoor shower room. The stone stairway leads up to the terrace at the back of the property, with views across the village and the imposing Hacho mountain.

The first floor is spacious and light, with beautiful reclaimed oak beams and polished wooden floors. The tall ceilings in the main living room capture the maximum amount of light, drawing the eye upwards to the wooden mezzanine and the master suite at the top of the house. To the living space’s right is a generous bedroom with a Juliet balcony and tall double French doors.  Adjoining this there is a shower room in a contemporary design, the marble tops and stone tiling perfectly marrying with the more rustic decor in the rest of the house.

To the left of the living space on the first floor, there is a glassed corridor leading to a guest bedroom and the back rooftop terrace.

The top floor consists of the master bedroom suite. The warm bedroom mirrors the downstairs with an exposed brick wall and has French doors opening onto a Juliet balcony, capturing the views along the pretty street. The elegant adjoining bathroom has beautiful Andalusian-style Moorish arches separating it from the bedroom. There is also an adjacent dressing room, from which wooden stairs ascend to the large south-facing roof terrace, with incredible panoramic views of the village rooftops, the Hacho mountain, Sierra Blanquilla, towards the village of Cortes de la Frontera and then round to the glittering Mediterranean beyond.

This is a unique property with beautiful features and lots of outside space, designed with flair and style in the heart of the village.
