The area

Cortes de la Frontera is a white village in the Serranía de Ronda, an area of outstanding natural beauty in Malaga province. Surrounded by miles of cork forest and rivers, there are many activities on offer to take advantage of the abundant flora and fauna and clean mountain air, such as canyoning, wild mushroom picking, bird watching and horse riding.

 

There are many bars and restaurants in Cortes and the surrounding villages, as well as plenty of supermarkets and shops selling local produce, like iberico pork products, honey and goat´s cheese. The medical facilities are excellent, with a doctor´s surgery, and emergency doctor and ambulance. There is a primary and secondary school, sports facilities like tennis court, padel court and gym, a large municipal pool and a 11 bedroom hotel.

 

Well connected via train with Algeciras, Ronda, Malaga and Madrid, by road Cortes is within half an hour of Gaucin, 45 minutes to Gibraltar and an hour and half to the cities of Malaga and Seville.
